We woke up to about 8 new inches of HEAVY snow. We had a morning of chores awaiting us in the great WHITE outdoors!! Due to our 37 inch down fall a week ago our roof had quite a load on it. I ran over it earlier this week in the really high build up areas but today we did it all.
We could walk on and off the roof like our roof was ground level. (or Snow Level) We got the front portion done and said to each other "We could sled off the roof the snow is so high". We say that every time we shovel the roof but this year.......We did it!!!! I had Aaron go first (I am a bit of a chicken) He said "I've got life insurance, I'll see you at the bottom". All I could do is jump down and grab the camera. Then it was my turn with little hesitation off I went. It was a blast!!! We let Clayton join in the fun. He either takes after me or is smart, I don't know which. He hesitated he started down once and threw his feet down as breaks to stop himself just before the icy gutter edge. He regrouped and took off again, this time making it down. "Wow that was awsome" was all he could say. Well we have a lot more work to get done the front door is completely snowed in......Aaron says"have everyone call ahead and go through the garage instead of using the front door till spring". Then bless his heart went to work clearing the front door. So all are WELCOME!! We had to widen the driveway it is slowly becoming a 1 car drive instead of the 3 it could be. Then off to the back to clear some room for the dog to do her business. Gotta keep the dog happy too.
Unfortunately Aaron & I forget how old we are. Were not spring chickens anymore and this kind of stuff really takes a toll on our bodies. (Shoveling that is not Sledding)
