Fall Fun!!

Saturday we went to the park. It was such a beautiful fall day. By 9:30 we were all able to loose our full winter gear and just run in sweatshirts. It was so warm. We played, we ran, we laughed, we saw a wedding at the beach, a squirrel that had to seriously fear for its life due to the boys and a chestnut tree.(that took up majority of our time at the park) The poor squirrel ran down the tree and froze as if to hide, the boys saw it rite off it couldn't hide. They ran around collecting chestnuts as the squirrel tried to blend with the tree. Too late they had there ammo, and he had better really run. All three of the boys started chucking chess nuts at that poor animal. He had speed on his side and they had a pretty small target to hit. We had a lot of fun. The squirrel and poor moose may not of but we had a great time. It took a lot to get these pictures, but it was worth it. Happy Fall to All!

1 Week

I hate to say but I am wishing the next week away. Aaron comes home a week from today, it will have been 6 weeks. --Too Long.
So Friday night is pizza night around our home. I like ham & pineapple the boys like cheese. I can't see spending money on a pizza so com in and blah pizza. It was great, except JoAnn (My older sister) came by for a visit, then I had to get the kids from the neighbors house and visit there. When I finally made it back to my pizza that was cooking all that time. The bottom looked great due to it's being cooked on a baking stone but the top was a different story. It was bubbly and very dark. That's not the best part yet-- When you take a bite no matter how big or small (cause its too hot) the whole top of the pizza comes off with it. Then it hangs off your mouth burning your chin. We look like we forgot to wash our faces, but its just red from burnt toppings on our creative hot pizza. Oh the things we do for entertainment!

Today I had made plans with my old visiting teacher to take the boys. She wanted to take them to the park and make pizzas with them before Cody had to leave to school. She picked them up 25 minutes ago and I've got dinner in the crock pot, the house is clean and the cookies are baking. Don't I sound like Molly Mormon, Not. Now that all that's done I've got nothing to do. I'm Bord and lonely. I know that they need to get out and away from mom but it sure it hard on mom.
Funny thing Kelly picked up the boys and said get some sleep:) How sweet but it's 11:00 A.M. I can't sleep. Then I thought... do I look tired? Go figure I put makeup on and tried to look nice those that know me know that I never wear make up. I think that next time I need to try harder. ha ha ha.

White Peaches!

Last week we went to a food give away that we had heard about. We got a ton of peaches (white peaches). They were still pretty hard so we thought we would wait till after the weekend to get to canning them. Monday roles around. If you'r home is like mine Monday is clean and dig out from the weekend day. But we started those peaches anyway, we had 12 boxes total between my neighbor and I. I set out early went to moms to get jars and to Albertsons for lids $20 dollars later we were ready to start our project. They are white peaches so they have to be peeled like an apple (a little more work then we had imagined). We worked on them for 4 hours, 22 jars later and 4 jars of jam. We are finally done. You may think that's all? But these peaches were so rotten and furry that I could of made a fur coat out of the furry growth on top. We really tackled 8 boxes and got very picky on the last 4. Wow we felt great a job well done!!

I chilled a jar for breakfast this morning and asked the kids to try them. Clayton was the best what a little trooper. He tasted them started chewing and ran as fast as he could get to the trash. Have you tasted those?? No but I'm going to. "Mom don't they are nasty they will make you sick where did you get that stuff?? Wow don't I feel great!! I tasted them and they are not to be desired.
So the moral of this experience, don't Can white peaches they are nasty from the get go. They don't have much flavor and taste like slime both before and after being canned. Don't waist your time and money on nasty slime.
P.S Clayton lives to retail the story. Although the nightmares will haunt him for a while.

Home

Almost 3 weeks ago today the boys and I threw our towel in and came home. I have been busy getting things going here. We took our home off the market, we got the boys into school, we got our home put back together, mowed a few times and tried to just enjoy being home. Yesterday we got the boys all set for winter and went to the pumpkin patch. A great family tradition we all really enjoy.
Fall is in the air. The trees are beautiful full of fall shades of red, orange, yellow and some are at there end stages of brown. We live in such a beautiful area were we get all 4 seasons. We take it for granted. Imagine no Autumn or Winter. I know it's a little tough cold and a lot of work. My kids are so excited for snow that when we have a heavy frost like this morning it's next to impossible to get them to eat breakfast and wait until 8:00 so my neighbors don't get mad at us. They are out the door with all there winter gear sled in one hand and snowboard in the other. Clayton pulls them they call it frost surfing! They love it and look so forward to it each morning. Then the sun comes up and the frost that the sleds were gliding over turns into wet grass and the fun is over till tomorrow.
Oh to be a kid again full of energy and life.
